AIR SERVICE OFFERED TO PASSENGERS WITH NO VEHICLE 

To ensure a continuous connection between Gaspésie and Côte-Nord during the interruption of service of the NM F-A-Gauthier, the Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ) is offering pedestrians a flight service between the airports of Mont-Joli, Baie-Comeau and Septs-Îles. 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING STQ’S AIR SERVICE

Until May 31 inclusively, a shuttle service is available in Matane and Baie-Comeau, between the airports and the ferry terminals, upon request. (see the section: Shuttle Service between the Ferry Terminals and the Airports).

As of June 1st, the maritime service will be available and the shuttle crew transferred; the shuttle service will therefore no longer be available as of this date.

Passengers are requested to present themselves at the airport at least 45 minutes prior to their departure. 

Parking at the airports is paid. (see the section: Fees)

No food is served on the flights. Vending machines are available for the use of all passengers in the three airports. 

The baggage limit is one checked luggage weighing max 23kg and one regular sized hand luggage.

Length of Flights:

  • Mont-Joli to Baie-Comeau : 15 minutes 
  • Mont-Joli to Sept-Îles : 45 minutes 

Passengers:

All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult during the flight. Children 12 years or older may travel alone, however an adult must register the child and provide contact information as well as provide identification. An adult must be present for the departure as well as at the arrival. Please note that the adult at the departure must remain until the flight has taken off. The flight attendants will provide any required assistance during the flight.

Reservations and Payment:

To cancel or modify an existing reservation, it is imperative to communicate with the ferry’s reservations bureau at 1 877 562-6560.

  • Cancellations or modifications made at least 72 hours beforethe time of the scheduled departure are eligible for refunds.  
  • Cancellations or modifications made with less than 72 hours beforethe time of the scheduled departure will lose the total value of their reservation. 

Clients can also present themselves at the airport with no reservation, however their place may not be guaranteed. They will be allowed onboard only if space permits. A cash payment will be accepted by the check-in agent at the airport. Reservations are not obligatory but are strongly recommended. 

For all reservations made online or by telephone, the total amount of the transaction will be charged on a valid credit card at the time of the reservation. In the eventuality that the client does not possess a credit card, reservations and payments must be made directly at the reservation office of Matane’s ferry terminal during regular operating hours. 

SHUTTLE SERVICE BETWEEN THE FERRY TERMINALS AND THE AIRPORTS

A free shuttle service is offered to passengers between the ferry terminals and airports of Mont-Joli and Baie-Comeau. To take advantage of this service, clients are asked to add this information to their online reservations or to communicate directly with the reservations office at 1 877 562-6560.

Air Service

  • 16 to 64 years old: $20
  • 65 years and up: $15
  • 6 to 15 years old: $10
  • 5 years old and less: Free

Shuttle Service

  • Free for all 

Airport Parking               

  • Mont-Joli: $5/day
  • Baie-Comeau: Varies from $4 to $6 per day depending on the location
  • Sept-Îles: $3/day

CHECK-IN PROCESS

Check-in Time

Passengers are requested to present themselves at the airport at least 45 minutes prior to their departure. This is the minimum time required and late passengers may be refused boarding. 

Required Documents for Check-in 

Before leaving for the airport, please make sure that you have all the necessary documents. 

At the time of check-in, passengers must present the following documents:

  • Confirmation of the reservation either printed or on a smart phone
  • Piece of valid identification with complete name, birthday, and recent photo

WARNING: The name appearing on the piece of identification must exactly match the name appearing on the reservation confirmation, otherwise, boarding may be refused. 

Tardy and Absentee Policy

Passengers are requested to present themselves at the airport at least 45 minutes prior to their departure.In case of tardiness, reservations are no longer guaranteed. It may still be possible to board, however the passengers who present themselves at the airport within the prescribed time, even those without reservations, will get priority over those who arrive late. 

A client is considered absent if he does not present himself at all or arrives after the departure of the flight. In these situations, a note will be made in the client’s file. 

Cancellation Policy 

To cancel or modify your reservation, you must call 1 877 562-6560 at least 72 hours before the scheduled time of departure to receive a refund and you must have your reservation number on hand. 

All cancellation or modification requests made under 72 hours will not be refunded. Clients will need to make new reservations. 

PASSENGER INFORMATION

Pregnant Women

It is recommended to consult a doctor before planning the trip. 

For safety reasons, women should not fly as of their 36thweek of pregnancy. 

People with Reduced Mobility 

The comfort and security of our passengers are a priority for the STQ. It is possible to provide assistance to board or disembark the airplane and depending on circumstances, an adapted wheelchair may be available to passengers. Any request for assistance needs to be signalled at the time the reservation is made. 

Children and Infants 

Infants aged 0-2 years old can travel on the knees of an adult. As of 2 years old, children will need to have their own seat.

Pets

With the exception of service animals, all animals will travel in the baggage compartment. The animal must be placed in a transport cage large enough so it may stand up. The STQ must be advised of any animal traveling at the time the reservation is made. 

Baggage

Baggage limit permitted onboard: 

  • One checked luggage, weighing no more than 23kg (50lbs) 
  • One carry-on bag: 21,5" height x 15,5" width x 9" depth (dimensions may vary slightly from one airline to another).  
  • One personal item such as: 

    • A laptop bag
    • A handbag
    • A small sports bag
    • A camera bag

Infant and baby articles do not count as baggage. Strollers, baby seats and car booster seats will however be put in the baggage compartment. 

In the eventuality where a passenger does not respect the baggage limit, the airline company reserves the right to refuse boarding.  

Delays, Detours or Flight Cancellations 

In case of delays, detours or cancellations for reasons outside of our control, the STQ will rebook passengers on other flights with no additional fees* or will reimburse the amount of the reservation. (*subject to availability)

The STQ is not liable to offer other services, such as lodging, meals or ground transportation due to a delay, cancellation or schedule change outside of our control.
