CREDIT TO AFFECTED CLIENTS
In the wake of recent service interruptions at the Matane-Baie-Comeau-Godbout crossing, the Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ) announced on March 13th, an exceptional support measure for customers who were directly affected by the cancellation of one or more crossings.
This measure will take the form of a credit for future use of the Matane ferry services for all customers whose reservations have been canceled and to whom STQ could not offer any adequate alternative.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS
The STQ asks not to call the Matane reservation center to change their address or ask questions about this measure. These lines must remain available for reservations.
The Adress Confirmation Form is the simplest and fastest method to use to update your contact information.
As of today, customers who wish to update their profile and obtain more information can call a toll-free number 1 877 745-2724.
For customers with a vehicle
Eligibility: Having made the reservation of a crossing which was canceled during one of the periods during which the STQ did not offer an adequate maritime service for passenger vehicles.
Periods without sea service for passenger vehicle:
- January 3 to 7, 2019
- February 1 to 13, 2019
- From February 25 to March 7, 2019
Credit offered: amount equivalent to the amount of their reservation (s) canceled (s), encoded on a plastic card sent by mail.
To obtain their credit, eligible customers must confirm their contact information via the Adress Confirmation Form or by telephone. A dedicated line is available at 1 877 745-2724.
Once their contact information has been updated in the system, customers will automatically receive their credit for their next use of ferry services at the Matane-Baie-Comeau-Godbout crossing. Mailing will start at the beginning of April.
Please note, the credit will expire March 31st 2020.
For heavy transport customers
Eligibility: Having made the reservation of a crossing which was canceled during one of the periods during which the STQ did not offer an adequate maritime service for commercial vehicles.
Period without maritime service for commercial customers:
- From December 19, 2018 to January 7, 2019
- February 12 and 13, 2019
- From February 25 to March 1, 2019
- March 5 to 7, 2019
Credit offered: amount equivalent to the amount of their reservation (s) canceled.
Corporate clients will be contacted by STQ staff and a credit equivalent to their reservation will be credited to their account.
Other eligible customers will have to confirm their information via the Adress Confirmation Form or by telephone, as of March 18, to receive their credit for the next use of ferry services at the Matane-Baie-Comeau-Godbout ferry.
